本週要跟大家分享的是，吸大麻在台灣合法嗎？持有大麻會怎麼樣呢？
大家好，昨天台灣有一則新聞吸引許多人的關注，台灣知名的YouTuber Joeman和蕾菈在自己的家裡吸食大麻，警察透過線報攻堅逮人，也的確搜到了大麻。我覺得在東西方對於「大麻」有不同的看法，今天就來分享一下台灣人對於「大麻」的看法，還有在台灣吸食大麻會怎麼樣呢？
「大麻」在台灣是二級毒品，如果吸食或是持有，都是犯罪的行為，可能會被判兩年以下的有期徒刑，或是新台幣20萬元以下的罰金。在台灣，政府為了讓這些人脫離吸大麻，也會讓這些吸食大麻的人進入勒戒機構，最長兩個月，跟坐牢很像，會被限制人身自由。看起來雖然有一些罰責，但似乎又不是非常嚴重，然而名人吸食大麻並不是只有法律上的責任，更多的是工作上的責任。一旦吸食大麻，可能會面臨許多廠商的解約和求償，對這些名人來說，得賠上自己的事業，才是最可怕的事情。
由於**「吸大麻」這件事在台灣是違法的**，也因此許多名人若吸食大麻，就會有很不好的形象。不過在台灣，民眾仍然願意給這些人一些機會，因此他們還是有機會重新回到原本的工作。然而在中國，吸食大麻是非常嚴重的罪，若被抓到，等於完蛋了，很難再重新回到原本的工作。
由於我有許多的美國學生，也因此發現，在美國對於吸食大麻，或是持有大麻，並不是一件很嚴重的罪，但我個人或是其他的台灣人，大多數的人都很清楚知道大麻在台灣是毒品，不應該碰，若真的想嘗試的話，就去荷蘭吧！所以如果大麻在你的國家合法，但你想來台灣旅遊，也千萬不要想試著帶一點大麻到台灣，因為在機場就會有許多緝毒犬在檢查行李，千萬不要有僥倖的心態。

What I would like to share with you this week is, whether is it legal to use marijuana in Taiwan, and what happens if you possess it.
Hello everyone, there was a news in Taiwan that caught the attention of many yesterday. The well-known Taiwanese YouTubers Joeman and Lyla were caught using marijuana in their own home, after the police received a tip and raided their place, discovering marijuana in the process. I think that there are different perspectives on "marijuana" between the East and the West. Today, I'll share the Taiwanese view on "marijuana" and what happens when you smoke marijuana in Taiwan.
In Taiwan, "marijuana" is classified as a Schedule II controlled substance. If you smoke or possess it, it's considered a criminal offense and can result in a sentence of up to two years in prison or a fine of up to 200,000 New Taiwan Dollars. To help individuals overcome marijuana use, the government may also require them to enter rehabilitation facilities, which can last up to two months, resembling a form of incarceration with restricted personal freedom. Although the penalties may not seem overly severe, for celebrities, using marijuana carries more than just legal consequences – it also impacts their careers. Once they are caught using marijuana, they may face contract terminations and compensation claims from many companies. For these celebrities, having to sacrifice their careers is the most terrifying consequence.
Since "using marijuana" is illegal in Taiwan, many celebrities who use it end up with a tarnished reputation. However, Taiwanese society is somewhat forgiving, and these individuals are given opportunities to return to their previous work. In contrast, in China, marijuana use is considered a very serious crime, and if caught, it can lead to a bleak future with minimal chances of returning to their previous careers.
I have many American students, and I've noticed that in the United States, using or possessing marijuana is not considered a very serious crime. However, most Taiwanese, including myself, are aware that marijuana is classified as a drug in Taiwan and should not be used. If someone truly wants to try it, I would recommend going to the Netherlands. So, if marijuana is legal in your country, but you plan to visit Taiwan, please never consider bringing any marijuana with you, as there are numerous drug-sniffing dogs at the airport, and taking chances is not advisable.
